Prayer for Help

My God, help me to make a good confession as well as though I knew I was going to die in one hour's time. Help me to remember my sins. Help me to be sorry for them, and to make up my mind never to sin again.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for me that I may make a good confession. My holy guardian angel and all the angels, and saints, pray for me that I may make a good confession.

HOW TO GO FOR CONFESSION:

Before going for confession, be sure you have finished saying the prayer above and take out time to remember all your sins and bring them to front for easy confession (if possible wrote them down)


Approaching the priest at the confessional while he makes the sign of the cross you will say

R. Forgive me Lord for I have sinned. This is my (Specify the last time you went for confession e.g: this is my first confession since this month or this is my second confession since this week. Be sure to be specific so as not to sin while asking for forgiveness.) Confession since (State the duration) now start confessing your sins at the end you will say I have duly done my act of contrition for all my sins remembered and not remembered.

P. (The priest after maybe encouraging or counseling you will tell you the penance for your sins and request that you) say the act of contrition.

While saying that he will absorb your  and make the sign of the cross again blessing you and then you are done and ready to go and fulfill your penance for your sins.
