COMMISSONING OF LITURGICAL READERS

(All new members will now come out to the alter and all stand before the priest.)

PRESIDENT: Father, the Parish Lectors requests that you commission these our brothers and sisters who have been trained to be Liturgical Readers.


(All new members will take a candle and it will be lighted now.)


PRIEST: We all have the responsibility to share our faith with others. With the help of the Holy spirit, since they have received some training and are willing to serve, we want to commission them as Lectors.


ALL: Thanks be to God.


NEW MEMBERS WILL BE CALLED BY THEIR NAMES- 

PRIEST: My dear lectors, the church {Include the name of your church/Parish here} is happy to welcome you in the Family and our midst today, I ask you to declare your intentions.


PRIEST: Do you promise to undertake fully the duties of a lector in This parish?


NEW MEMBERS: Yes i do


PRIEST: Do you promise that through serious prayers, meditation and preparations, you will fulfil your duties as Lectors?


NEW MEMBERS: Yes I do


PRIEST: Do you promise to work in harmony with your Parish Priest and his vicar in obedience to Christ as faithful servants?


NEW MEMBERS: Yes I do


PRIEST: Do you promise to live an exemplary life, in witness to Christ our savior?


NEW MEMBERS: Yes I do, by the special grace of God.


PRIEST: May the God of our Lord Jesus, the glorious father, give you the spirit which will make you wise and reveal himself to you so that you may know, love and serve him whole-heartedly.


NEW MEMBERS: Amen.


THE PRIEST SPRINKLES HOLY WATER ON THEM AND ALL GOES BACK TO THEIR VARIOUS SEATS.

These days, the number of persons requesting the sacrament of confessions online is increasing.
