ARE THERE REALLY ANYTHING LIKE SEX DEMONS AND DOES THE CATHOLIC CHURCH TEACHES SUCH?

 Do Catholics believe in what people call a sex demon or spirit that makes people addicted to sex? 



No, the Catholic Church does not officially teach or endorse the belief in a specific "sex demon" or "spirit" that makes people addicted to sex. 


Catholic teaching acknowledges that human beings are prone to various temptations, including sexual temptations, but it does not attribute such temptations to the influence of specific demons or spirits.


The Catholic Church views human sexuality as a gift from God and teaches that it should be expressed within the context of a loving, committed marital relationship. 


However, the Church also recognises that people can struggle with sexual addiction or unhealthy sexual behaviours, which can negatively affect their lives and relationships. 


In such cases, the Church encourages individuals to seek spiritual guidance, counseling, and support to overcome their struggles and cultivate a healthy understanding of human sexuality.


It's important to note that beliefs and practices can vary among individual Catholics, and there may be some individuals who hold personal beliefs that involve the concept of sex demons or spiritual influences. However, these beliefs would not be part of official Catholic doctrine or teachings.


What about the popular Incubus? 


The term "incubus" is not specifically mentioned in the Bible. The concept of the incubus, which is a male demon believed to have sexual relations with women while they sleep, is primarily rooted in folklore, mythology, and various cultural beliefs rather than biblical teachings.


In Christian theology, demons are understood as fallen angels who rebelled against God and seek to lead humans away from Him. While the Bible does mention the existence of demons and their influence, it does not provide specific details about their activities or assign them specific roles related to sexual behaviour.


It's worth noting that throughout history, various cultures and belief systems have attributed different explanations to experiences of sleep paralysis, nocturnal emissions, or sexual dreams, often using terms like "incubus" or "succubus" to describe such phenomena. However, these explanations are not part of biblical teachings or official Christian doctrine.


In summary, the concept of the incubus as a specific type of demon associated with sexual encounters is not a doctrine or belief within mainstream Christianity or Catholicism. It is more commonly found in folklore and cultural mythology.
